My LTVP validity was extended — can I keep working?

Not automatically. A Letter of Consent is tied to your LTVP validity, so after the pass is extended or renewed you must go back to MOM through your employer to extend the LOC as well. Working on an expired LOC is not permitted even if the LTVP itself is valid.

The LOC follows the pass

The LOC cannot outlast the LTVP it sits on, so it is issued to match the pass validity. Extending or renewing the LTVP does not extend the LOC — the two are handled by different agencies, ICA and MOM respectively.

What to do

As soon as the new LTVP validity is confirmed, have your employer apply to MOM to extend the LOC, and keep the ICA outcome letter to hand as supporting evidence. Do not continue working in the gap on the assumption it will be backdated.
