When can I submit my LTVP renewal application?
ICA accepts LTVP renewal applications from roughly 3 months before the pass expires. Submit in good time, but note that the renewed pass runs from its date of issue — any unused validity on your current pass is not carried forward, so applying at the very earliest moment can cost you weeks.
Timing your submission
ICA opens the renewal window at about 3 months before expiry. In practice we recommend submitting around 6-8 weeks ahead: enough runway for ICA's standard processing and for any request for further documents, without giving up more of your existing validity than necessary.
Validity does not carry over
The renewed LTVP is valid from the date ICA issues it, not from the day your old pass would have expired. Remaining validity on the existing pass is simply lost, which is why submitting several months early is not automatically better.
