How do I renew my LTVP, and when should I start?
Start the renewal application through ICA's e-Service around 6–8 weeks before the current pass expires (ICA accepts renewals from roughly 3 months before expiry). Renewal isn't automatic — it depends on the local sponsor continuing to meet eligibility, such as income and relationship status, and on updated supporting documents.
The renewal process
Log in to ICA's e-Service with Singpass and submit the renewal with updated supporting documents — typically the sponsor's latest income proof and current relationship evidence. ICA reviews the renewal as a fresh assessment of eligibility, not a rubber stamp.
What happens if your sponsor will not renew
The most common problem we see is sponsor withdrawal — for example, a spouse who refuses to support the renewal. Because the LTVP depends on the sponsor's continued eligibility, a reluctant sponsor can put the pass holder at risk of losing status with very little runway. If you are in this situation, it is worth seeking advice before the current pass expires so you understand your options in advance.
