Who is eligible for a Long-Term Visit Pass (LTVP)?
An LTVP is generally issued to immediate family of Singapore Citizens, PRs, or holders of an Employment Pass, S Pass, or Student Pass — most commonly a spouse, unmarried child under 21, or (for citizens) a parent. ICA assesses each case individually; there is no automatic entitlement even for immediate family.
Who can apply
The most common LTVP applicants are the spouse of a Singapore Citizen, PR, Employment Pass, S Pass or Student Pass holder; an unmarried child under 21 of an eligible sponsor; and, for citizens, an aged parent. In some cases ICA also considers common-law spouses and parents accompanying a child who is studying in Singapore on a Student Pass.
What ICA weighs in the decision
ICA assesses each application on its own merits. The sponsor's income and ability to support the applicant, the duration and genuineness of the relationship, and the quality and consistency of the supporting documents all factor into the outcome. A well-prepared file with clear evidence matters more than the volume of paperwork.
