I am a foreign spouse who is widowed or divorced from a citizen or PR — how do I renew my LTVP?
The online renewal route assumes a sponsoring spouse, so it may not be open to you. Submit a request for assistance to ICA through its enquiry form, explaining your circumstances and attaching the supporting documents — the death certificate or divorce papers, and evidence of your ties to Singapore.
Applying without the usual sponsor
Because an LTVP is sponsored, the loss of the sponsoring spouse takes you outside the standard e-Service flow. ICA handles these cases through its enquiry channel: set out what happened, when, and what your current circumstances are, and provide the certificates that evidence it.
What strengthens the case
ICA looks at your continuing ties to Singapore. Care of Singapore Citizen children, length of residence, employment and ability to support yourself, and any custody arrangements all matter. These cases are assessed individually and are rarely straightforward — it is worth getting advice before the current pass expires rather than after.
