Can a parent or grandparent of a Student's Pass holder get an LTVP?
Yes. ICA has an LTVP category for a parent or grandparent of a child studying in Singapore on a Student's Pass. Only one applicant is allowed per child, either a parent or a grandparent. A Singapore citizen or PR aged 21 or over must sponsor the application through ICA's e-Service.

Documents ICA asks for
Besides the applicant's travel document and a recent digital photo (400 x 514 pixels), ICA asks for the student's birth certificate, the birth certificates or household register of the student's parents, the parents' marriage certificate, divorce or custody papers if they apply, and a letter from the student's school. Documents not in English need an official translation.
No local sponsor?
The sponsor must be a Singapore citizen or PR aged 21 or over, and many families moving here for school do not know one. If that is your situation, we can help you find a local sponsor. The sponsor takes on real responsibilities to ICA, so it should be someone who understands and accepts them.
