Can I work in Singapore on a tourist or visit pass?
No. Working in Singapore requires a valid work pass — Employment Pass, S Pass, Work Permit or another approved pass — applied for before you start. Working on a visit pass is an offence and can lead to enforcement action and a ban.
No work, including remote work for a Singapore employer
Any paid activity for a Singapore-based employer while on a visit pass is not permitted. Short business trips for an overseas employer follow separate rules — check them before you travel.
Convert the pass before starting
If a job offer materialises, the employer must apply for the appropriate pass before you begin work. Never start work on the strength of a pending application.
