How long does an appeal decision usually take?
Timelines vary by case complexity and pass type — ICA and MOM don't publish a fixed SLA for appeals, and straightforward cases can clear in weeks while complex ones (multiple prior rejections, entry bans) can take a few months.
Why timelines vary
A first appeal on a straightforward case with a clear improvement in circumstances may be decided in a matter of weeks. Cases with prior rejections, an entry ban, or questions about document authenticity take longer because the authority has more to review.
What you can do while waiting
There is no official status portal for appeals in most cases, which makes it easy to feel in the dark.
