What is the difference between a PR appeal and a PR reapplication?
An appeal asks ICA to reconsider the same rejected application and is typically filed within about 6 months with new or stronger evidence. A reapplication is a completely fresh application — there is no mandatory waiting period, but most consultants recommend waiting 6–12 months so your profile can strengthen first.
Which route is stronger
In most cases a reapplication with a genuinely strengthened profile beats a bare appeal. An appeal works best when there is a clear, documentable change since the rejection. If nothing has changed, a fresh application with improved evidence (higher salary, longer stay, stronger ties, new family circumstances) is usually the more realistic path.
