Can I appeal through my Member of Parliament (MP)?

Yes — an MP's letter of support is a recognised channel for immigration appeals, especially for PR, citizenship and LTVP cases. It can add weight, but ICA and MOM still decide on the merits — the letter works best alongside genuinely new or stronger evidence.

What an MP letter does

It signals community and political support for your case and ensures the appeal is reviewed with that context in mind. It does not guarantee approval and does not bypass the assessment.

Use it as part of a stronger case

The most effective appeals combine an MP's letter with improved evidence — income, ties, documentation — rather than relying on the letter alone. A consultant can help you decide what to add before anything is submitted.
