Do I need a sponsor for my Singapore PR application?
No — unlike an LTVP, a PR application does not require a local sponsor. You apply in your own right; ICA assesses your profile (salary, qualifications, length of stay, age, family ties) directly. The confusion usually comes from LTVP, which does need a citizen or PR sponsor.
PR is self-sponsored
The online application is submitted by the applicant in their own right. There is no sponsor field like an LTVP has, and no requirement to know a citizen who will vouch for you.
Where ties still matter
ICA does consider your ties to Singapore — family, employment and community involvement — but these are part of the profile assessment, not a formal sponsor requirement.
