Do first-generation PRs need to serve National Service (NS)?
- Main applicants under PTS or Investor schemes may be exempted.
- Male PRs as foreign students or under parents' sponsorship must register at 16½ and are enlisted at 18 or after A-Levels/poly diploma, whichever is later. No deferment for university.
- Former SC/PR males who obtain PR again are liable.
