# Is NUS always better than NTU?

Last updated: 2026-09-14

No. NUS is higher in the overall QS 2027 ranking, but "better" is programme-specific. NTU frequently leads in engineering, materials and certain applied and research fields, and a student can have a stronger outcome there than at a higher-ranked generalist programme.

## Compare the programme, not the crest

Check the specific curriculum, faculty, accreditation and graduate outcomes. See [best universities in Singapore 2027](https://www.eh-immigration.com/articles/best-universities-in-singapore-2027-for-international-families) for the full picture.
