# How might two international families make different choices?

Last updated: 2026-09-14

Two students with similar grades can reasonably pick different universities. One family may prioritise a higher-ranked programme for career optionality; another may prioritise lower cost, a specific specialism, or a campus closer to family. Both can be right because the objective differs.

## Start with the objective

Write down the single most important outcome — employability, affordability, a specific field, or a family/immigration goal — then rank options against it. See [the education system guide](https://www.eh-immigration.com/articles/inside-singapores-world-class-education-system) for the pathway options.
