# Does graduating from NUS or NTU guarantee Singapore PR?

Last updated: 2026-09-14

No. Graduating from NUS or NTU does not guarantee PR. ICA assesses PR applications on contribution, qualifications, age, family ties and length of stay, and there is no automatic conversion from a top-university degree to permanent residency.

## What helps instead

A qualifying job on an Employment Pass or S Pass, a stable record in Singapore, and a well-documented application are what ICA weighs.
